Oilseed rape honey is a type of honey produced by bees that feed on the nectar of oilseed rape flowers.  It is characterized by its light colour and fresh floral taste. The honey is typically harvested and processed to create a creamy and spreadable texture through a process called creaming.

Creaming is a method used to control the crystallization process of honey, resulting in a smooth and creamy consistency.  To create creamed honey, the harvested oilseed rape honey is gently warmed to ’hive temperature’ and then slowly cooled under controlled conditions. This encourages the formation of fine crystals, giving the honey a smooth and spreadable texture.

The creamed oilseed rape honey retains its floral aroma and delicate flavour, making it a popular choice among honey enthusiasts. Its spreadable consistency makes it easy to use as a topping for toast or as an ingredient in various recipes.

It's important to note that oilseed rape honey, like other types of honey, may vary slightly in taste and texture depending on factors such as the weather conditions, and the specific nectar sources available to the bees.

Due to the minimal processing, the honey retains it’s natural flavors, enzymes, and beneficial compounds.

Important information:  Not suitable for children under 12 months old.  Pure honey may naturally crystalise in cooler temperatures.
